We are pleased to introduce Jess Hall from Melbourne, Australia. Jess emailed me recently with the perfect approach to submitting her works for consideration. She curated a bespoke collection that ‘may suit the gallery space’ and her CV was spot on. While I had thought 47 artists was plenty to manage I couldn’t help myself and not resist Jess’s works. We met on zoom so I could see her works more closely and they were as exquisite as I had imagined. Jess tells us more about the works:

“ … my work responds to the interplay between science and art by presenting surreal, fantastical specimens that suggest an unknown, future environment.  Imagined life forms are created from the influence of Australian and European flora, producing hybrid, biomorphic shapes.  The work suggests future environments by exploring hybridity, alluding to human relationships with nature .… “.

Working with dye, crochet and embroidery, Jess’ drawings and textiles use hybrid forms to articulate an imaginary science

We are lucky to have 3 works from the Flora Fantastica series alongside her 100% silk crepe de chine scarves. The scarves have been designed, digitally printed and made in Australia
