A little artist statement | My latest work explores the fragility and sacredness of Australia’s unique fauna through the lens of illuminated miniature painting. Working with gouache and gold mica powder, I have created a series that pays homage to three endangered Australian species, each bearing ‘gold’ in their common name. This deliberate choice of subjects is both a celebration and a lament - highlighting not only their inherent beauty, but also the preciousness and vulnerability that their ‘golden’ titles evoke. My work aims to inspire a greater appreciation and encourage their protection for future generations.
