A little artist statement and bio | For her first Art in Miniature Exhibition, Jenny reflects on some of the orchids grown in her backyard during her childhood in Brunei Darussalam. As a self-taught artist, Jenny’s artistic journey began in September 2022, following her retirement from the Australian public service. Working primarily in watercolour, graphite and colour pencils, her work has since received notable recognition, including selection for the 2025 Botanical Art World Wide Exhibition with 31 participating countries including Australia, receiving the Horticulturist award at the 2025 Australian National Botanic Gardens Art Exhibition and winning second prize at the 2025 Artists Society of Canberra Exhibition. Jenny is also member of the Botanical Art Society of Australia with works being held in private collections and nationally at the Australian National Botanic Gardens in Canberra.
