A little artist statement | Stepping beyond my familiar focus on birds and portraiture, these miniature works offered an opportunity to explore treasured objects painted directly from life. Working at a reduced scale required a heightened level of attention, slowing the act of looking and deepening my engagement with each subject. While my practice is grounded in intricate wildlife art and emotive portraiture, this body of work continues my aim to foster an intimate emotional connection between subject and viewer. Through careful detail and observation, the miniature format invites quiet contemplation, encouraging viewers to lean in and form a personal relationship with each painted object.
