A little artist statement | Hi, I'm Naomi, a botanical art enthusiast who enjoys using mixed media. I explore the possibilities of blending ink and graphite in a three-piece series to depict Australian native plants and the playful fairy wren. In nature, the vibrant colour of the male wren attracts and deflects curious eyes away from the muted hues of their mates, providing added protection for the female as she blends seamlessly into her surroundings while out foraging. My goal is to show the hidden beauty of nature and to encourage others to appreciate and protect it - and who can resist the delightful trill of a fairy wren!
