A little bit extra about the art from Sally | I developed this painting by making a move and then responding to what came next. Although it is entirely painted, I use the language of collage, bringing together watery washes, soft organic forms and harder architectural edges. I often cut through something fluid or beautiful with a sharper visual interruption, partly to resist predictability and partly to force the painting to change course. That tension is what keeps the work alive.
