A little Artist Statement about this painting | Halfway through my art residency, we had a day trip to Troyes. I was particularly drawn to these 16th century houses with their exposed wooden beams and little windows and doors, but mostly because I couldn’t believe they were still standing centuries later when they weren’t even standing straight.
