A little statement about this etching from Martin | Each etching features a bird against a backdrop of a lightly etched tree trunk, or branch, the latter appearing as parts of skeletons - some human, some also imaginary skeletal forms. The skeletal sections are human, but some are invented from various human skeleton parts. There are pressures on all species, including our specie,  hence the irony of tree branches being composed of human skeletal sections. Most of the birds in the work are only threatened in certain locations or environments. I was thinking more of resilience in the face of dwindling biodiversity. The irony in the work is that humans are possibly the unsuccessful species!
