Gallery of Small Things (GOST) is hosting its 3rd show for 2026 with new artworks from Melissa Hammond, an emerging artist based in Canberra, Australia.
Anne Masters, Director of GOST invited Melissa to exhibit at her gallery as Melissa’s artworks needed a special space. She explains,
When I sighted the delicate paintings Melissa had created from her time in France, I instinctively knew they needed a space which would provide intimacy and contemplation.
Melissa has been working hard to pull together her artworks, have them photographed and framed professionally. She explains,
Oil pastels need extra attention and care and I asked well respected Canberra Framer Michael Cammack to protect the art and adhere to conservation standards.
Michael has done a beautiful job with framing each artwork with museum art glass and acid free conservation mat board
You can read Melissa’s artist statement here. You will be taken on a lovely journey as she explains how the artworks came about from her time in France and Paris.
The show is open physically to the public 26 March, Thursdays to Mondays between 11am and 5pm. The show concludes continues 5pm, Monday 6 April 2026.
A catalogue will be released at 11am, Thursday 26 March so watch this space (remember to hit refresh for the button to appear).
