Carte Postale en Pastel | Small Paintings

I’m delighted our 3rd show, Carte Postale en Pastel, by
Melissa Hammond opens to the public this
Thursday 26 March 2026.
We have special guest, Gordon Bull, former Head, School of Art, Australian National University, who will open the show at a private event.

Melissa is an emerging artist based in Canberra and she has created 15 paintings for this exhibition. From landscapes covered in snow or sunflowers to Autumn days you will fall in love with her creamy, buttery oil pastels artworks in postcard size.

She has also captured charming moments in Chaumont, Lyon, Troyes and Paris. From a couple walking away from their market visit to sweet cafes and even La Dame de Fer, The Iron Lady (nickname for Eiffel Tower), there is something for everyone to feel taken on a virtual journey to France.

The artworks have a minimalist white frame with museum art glass and acid free conservation mat board. This ensures the oil pastels are protected and adhere to conservation standards

The catalogue will go live in person and online at 11am.
