2026 Exhibitions Program @ GOST
As most of you know from our last newsletter, I made a decision to change the way my gallery works.
In 8 years, GOST has grown to be a much loved art gallery supporting and showcasing a stable of artists in a leading and unique concept. It’s now time for a new program.
For 2026, I’m introducing (and in some cases reintroducing) Australian artists to Canberra in 6 exhibitions to be held through out the year. They will be held on special days/times so please check the website when they are confirmed closer to the time.
So save the dates and I’ll reveal in our next newsletter who’s next! But first up is Painter Kiata Mason and Ceramicist Hamish Bassett. Head to our next story for all the info, thanks Anne
First show of the year | A duo exhibition | Paintings & Ceramics
I’m very excited to announce Ceramicist Hamish Bassett is returning to GOST this time in a duo exhibition with painter Kiata Mason. Some of you may recall Hamish was in our group shop 8 | Connections in late 2024 and I was keen to invite him back. I’ve been admiring Kiata’s still life paintings for some time having followed her via Nic Mason (one of our former stable artists).
I think it’s important to create a conversation where artists can connect over shared ideas,
possible themes and something quite unexpected. As it was, both discovered they had spent part of their teenage years in Canberra and recalled places they both knew. Objects - small and miniature - and how they are used in their practices was also a topic of discussion.
So, without revealing too much … keep an eye out on social media and our next newsletter dropping 3 Feb to find out more about the paintings and tiny sets coming our way.
Anne xx
Online Shop | Stockroom
In 2026, as GOST transitions to a new program, Anne has selected a range of popular artworks for those that will miss their weekly visit. The shop is smaller, similar to that of a stockroom and is available online 24/7. When you check out all you have to do is choose either click and collect (for locals) or shipping.
Anne will contact you to make arrangements according.Any questions big or small please contact her.
Love GOST! We welcome reviews to help visitors locally, interstate and overseas to visit us as one of many gems in Canberra. Your positive feedback also helps us (and many tourist operators) when being assessed for arts / tourism opportunities. You can choose Tripadvisor, Facebook or Google.
