5 - 16 February | 5 days a week

Gallery of Small Things (GOST) is hosting its 1st show for 2026 with new works from Painter Kiata Mason from Birpai Land, NSW and Ceramicist Hamish Bassett from Melbourne (naarm), Australia.

Anne Masters, Director of GOST invited both artists as she was compelled to introduce Kiata to Hamish and vice versa. She explains,

I have been following both artists for a long time and felt Kiata’s still life paintings of objects and familiar home scenes would resonate with Hamish Bassett - who makes miniature pots and vases.

Anne spoke to Kiata first as they were introduced by her cousin - former GOST stable artist Nic Mason. I felt an immediate connection with Kiata and we chatted all things art, art school, the life on an artist and learned how Kiata makes her art accessible. I also had this same connection when I first met Hamish who was visiting Canberra a few years back. I invited him to be in a group show in late 2024 and his teapot sets proved to be a hit.

Artist Statements about the artworks are below:

The show now closed physically. However, for those that missed the show, the artworks from the exhibition are still available to buy. Click on the button below to shop now.
