A little bit extra from Jess | The Middle Space series responds to the space between art and craft, making use of traditional craft practices in a contemporary context.  Painting with dye on linen and using a variety of hand embroidery techniques, the work reimagines traditional embroidery samplers as abstracted patterns; stretched as a painting to reference the continuing divide/interaction between art and craft.
