Last week for annual show | Little break

LAST WEEK! Our annual group show finishes 6 Sep 2020

Our annual group show closes at 4pm this Sunday 6 September. We are thrilled to have our first review in The Canberra Times by Brian Rope. He has written a comprehensive review on the show and we appreciate his time in visiting the gallery. For those that may not know, reviews are quite important for artists as a peer review can then be placed on a CV and form part of the media/publications that most artists aspire too in order to receive critical feedback on their artistic creations. At GOST, we are keen to mentor artists and see their practice grow in order to sustain their arts practice. The show can be viewed in person 7 days a week, 11am to 4pm or you can visit the online catalogue at your own leisure. Get in quick to avoid disappointment as a number of works have sold.

Have you ever wondered what goes into installing a show / exhibition in a gallery? Well, I had fun using a time-lapse on my camera to film two days work of installing the current exhibition 20/20 20x20 2020. You'll be pleased to know it's been reduced to 9 minutes so you don't have to see me for 48 hours! This is only one part of my job and doesn't touch on the other tasks at hand when running an exhibition. I wouldn't dare time-lapse my other tasks ... my computer would choke on the megabytes required to film two months of work behind the scenes. I'm very grateful to our artists too who also spend time, energy, research and the realisation of their concepts to reality. It's been a wonderful collaboration with PhotoAccess and our 13 artists. Thanks to our customers too.

A little time out
GOST closed Friday 25 to Sunday 27 September 2020

We are coming up to our 3rd anniversary for GOST on 27 September 2020.
It also happens to be our 12th wedding anniversary.

We are going to have a long weekend. I normally work weekends and miss out on many special occasions - weddings, engagements, birthdays. But this comes with the territory of owning a business that is open to the public. I need time out - away from technology, the computer, social media and zoom! We consider ourselves very lucky to be able to do this (pending no border closures between now and then).

Thanks, Anne & Adam

Do you have a spare 5 minutes? We’d love a review. Thanks!
